The city Animal Welfare Department's Eastside and Westside shelters expect to
be so busy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday officials are posting workers in parking lots to direct traffic.
People who pass a background check can adopt dogs a year or more old for free. Anyone with a history of violence against people or animals will not be allowed to adopt.
KOB-TV in Albuquerque reports the animals will have all their shots, be spayed or neutered and come
with a dog license.
