ACLU of New Mexico Director of Public Policy Steven Robert Allen said he views the upcoming legislative session as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to move what he describes as the cause of liberty forward in New Mexico.
He cited a new governor and shake-ups in the legislature as opportunities to pass ACLU-supported legislation which he says will protect and extend freedoms.
Allen said the trainings are designed to give people tools to have powerful and productive conversations with legislators, and to connect to resources and a network of activists engaged in like-minded efforts.
The Deming training is set for Thursday, Jan. 17th, from 6-8 p.m.
There also will be an online training on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, from 6-8 p.m.
