For the past several years, Luna County 4-H members have worked in conjunction with Luna County Farm and Livestock Bureau and the Luna County BorderBelles to purchase $1,300 worth of goods and then donated to the Luna County Healing House/Domestic Violence Shelter.
The Healing House provides the group with a shopping list of needed items and 4-Her’s shop for the desired groceries and items. Everything from fresh produce and meats, to bottled water and canned goods are purchased and donated.
This project instills in members the importance of community service and involvement.
