City of Rocks is located between Deming and Silver City, and Rockhound is located in the Little Florida Mountains southeast of Deming.
Attendees will observe highlights of the October sky, including Mars low in the west, the Andromeda Galaxy rising in the northeast and the summer Milky Way dividing the evening sky.
The events begin with night sky tours, followed by views of deep sky objects through high-powered telescopes.
Matt Wilson will be the presenter at City of Rocks, and Sally Allen will be the presenter at Rockhound.
The programs are viewed in a dark sky setting beginning at 7:40 p.m., and attendees should arrive at either park at sunset, which is at about 6:30 p.m., so they can become familiar with their surroundings before nightfall.
The programs will end at about 9:10 p.m.
