KDEM-FM Station Profile
KDEM-FM is locally owned and operated in Deming, New Mexico. Our main objective is helping assure the prosperity of Deming, and we do this by making Deming people, events and businesses our sole focus. Deming and Luna County's population is approximately 16,000, with the city located on Interstate 10, about 30 miles from the Mexican border. Tourism is a major industry, as is agriculture. Deming also sports additional winter visitors, and has a growing retirement population. Deming has obtained national stature with its annual "Great American Duck Race" each August. KDEM features a blend of adult contemporary hit music from the 1980's and 1990's through today. The station plays hip, fun, current music featuring a broad spectrum of sounds. This special mix of adult contemporary music lets adults feel up-to-date without having to endure the bubblegum pop songs or rap/hip-hop music that is a tune-out to more mature listeners. KDEM broadcasts the popular "Bright AC" satellite format from Westwood One, America's #1 radio network. The live format is targeted to attract the active 25-54 year olds who love to stay on top of today's music without abandoning the great songs they remember from high school and college. KDEM is affiliated with the Associated Press news network and carries AP network news at the top of the hour, 24 hours a day. We also keep the community informed of local happenings with state and local news throughout the day and public service announcements on the KDEM "Bulletin Board." In addition to music and specials, KDEM is the local affiliate for University of New Mexico Lobo football and basketball. Mike Roberts, who has been labeled the "Dean of New Mexico Sportscasters" with over 30 years of play-by-play experience, provides the broadcast from the network flagship, powerhouse KOB in Albuquerque. KDEM-FM is on the air 24 hours a day, seven days a week. |
