(Deming) – Morgan Hall will rock with the big band sound as the Deming Performing Arts Theater (DPAT) presents the Mesilla Valley Swing Band from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 11,2017 at 109 E. Pine St..
Come to just soak up and listen to the wonderful '40s and '50s sounds – or bring your dancing shoes and “swing” the afternoon away.
The 17- to 20-piece big band plays the music of the swing era from the libraries of many of the famous big bands and will choose from tunes such as: “Moonlight Serenade,” “Bandstand Boogie,” “Gettin’ Sentimental Over You,” “Sentimental Journey,” “Basin St. Blues,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “Talk of the Town,” and more from the Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Harry James bands and others."
The band is under the direction of Dr.James Helder.

We want to invite you to the Second annual Deming Talent Show. This event is for the community and everyone is invited. Any performers are welcome to participate and any age is welcome to participate. All proceeds will be donated to the CASA foundation. The CASA foundation is a foster home for kids who are waiting to get adopted. This donation will help them with clothing, shoes, and anything else they may need. This will also show the kids that they are not alone.
There will be two groups, children under 10 years old and anyone above 10 years old. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd price winners for the group above 10 years old and 1st place price for children under 10 years old.
Cost: Under 10 years old : $ 5.00
Above 10 years old : $ 10.00
Admission fee: $2:00

Deming High School Seniors:
Senior Portraits are Tuesday, February 21! Invitations for senior portraits have gone out; if you haven't received one then please come see Ms. Jones in room 22 main.
Graduates have been assigned a time to come to the auditorium on Tuesday for their senior portrait. Please come at the time you were assigned on your invitation.
All seniors should wear nice clothes. Guys should wear a shirt with a collar and tie. We have a couple extra if you don't have one. Robes will be provided. If you're graduating in white, remember that the color underneath will probably show through. The Lifetouch company photographers will take your picture in the graduation robe and a picture in your nice clothes.
We will do a last call before the end, which we will be around 2:00.
