Southwest NM State Fair Board is accepting applications for the 2016 Parade. Pick them up/turn them in to the Chambers office or City of Deming office. Entry fees are $5 and multiple prizes will be given out. THE PARADE ROUTE HAS CHANGED! It will start at the Visitors Center, head west to Diamond, turn left and head south to the end point of Courthouse Park.
SWNMSF is having their first annual talent show on October 10th at 7:30 pm. Call 575-590-0637 for more information. Applications are due by SEPT. 24th. There will be a 100% payback to contestants.
DLCED and the Chamber are hosting their first annual golf tournament October 3rd. Contact the Chambers office or DLCED office for more details.

The Deming Senior Center at 800 S. granite will be hosting a dance on September 8, 2015 from 1:30-3:30pm in the dining room.
The “Country Music Group” Brenda, G. W. and Barb are some very talented musicians that will be playing for your enjoyment. They play a variety of music and requests. In case you haven’t heard we are really having a lot of fun and we are getting out of the heat!!!! Come kick up your heels, or just enjoy the great live music for a fun filled afternoon.

Cancer Patient and Family Support Group Meeting
Thursday, August 20th at 5pm.
Cancer Support of Deming & Luna County, Inc. Office Located at 217 N. Country Club Rd. (inside the Historic Train Depot next to Starmax)
We would like to invite all cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and family to attend. These group meetings invite everyone to ask questions, share their knowledge, experiences and feelings with others and receive encouragement and support for dealing with the difficult situations. Most importantly; these sessions help give each warrior hope!
Deming Animal Guardians is hosting a free Party in the Park next Saturday, August 15, from 11 am to 1 pm at Milo/Viramontes Park, E. Second and Pearl Streets.
Pet owners are urged to come on out and sign up their cats and dogs for very low cost spaying and neutering.
Registration will take place for the Soul Dog Mobile Spay/Neuter Van coming to Deming Aug. 29 and 30. Pets must be pre-registered.
Cost is just $25 per pet and includes both vaccinations.
At the Party, there will be free hot dogs, face painting, children's activities, raffle tickets and more.
It is not necessary to bring your pets to the Party.

Distribution of Commodities for the general public will be held Thursday, Aurust 20, at 3801 Raymond Reed Blvd.
Distribution will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the food is gone.
Recipients will been to bring a picture ID and a current utility bill or other proof of your current address. You must show documentation or you will not receive food. If you are picking up for someone else, you will need to bring a note of authorization and all of the above for that person.
