(Deming) - Deming Animal Guardians and The Galleria have partnered to celebrate the holidays with friends and help the Mazie Fund for the Amazing Mazie who was hit by a car and other needy animals in Luna County.

Join the festivities on Sunday, December 21, from 11 am to 4 pm at 200 S. 8th St. in Deming.  Enjoy home-baked goodies and hot spiced cider  as well as door prizes and raffles all day.   The Galleria is donating 10% of all sales to Deming Animal Guardians.

What better place than the historic Galleria to enjoy the feeling of Christmas in a small New Mexico town in the 1880s?  And at the same time help our animal friends who depend on us for so much. Call Pat at 544-2209 for more information.

Museum Annual Green Tea will be Sunday December 14th

12/3/2014

(Deming) – Deming-Luna-Mimbres Museum volunteers have been preparing for this year’s Annual Green Tea, set for a week from Sunday.

The museum’s Green Tea is a highlight of the holiday season for many local residents.

Catering is provided by museum volunteers who prepare a variety of snacks and refreshments for the public to enjoy.

Museum Director Virginia Pool said that although the Green Tea is a free event, it is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the museum.

And Pool said they are expecting over 200 people to attend the grand event.

This year the public will see five beautiful Christmas trees of all shapes, sizes and styles on display.

One tree stands tall in the center of the art gallery wing of the museum, two trees adorn the downstairs as you enter the museum, a tree is on display in the transportation room, and the fifth tree is in the newly remodeled upstairs of the museum.

Deming Intermediate School teacher Toby Soderberg donated many hours stringing new lights and decorating the trees, with the help of fellow volunteers.

Pool said she thinks the public will be pleased with the many new displays and things to see this year at the museum.

Also, there will be a drawing for an oil painting by local artist Carol Kipp. Tickets are $5 each and are on sale at the museum.

The Deming-Luna-Mimbres Museum Annual Green Tea will be Sunday, December 14th, from 1:30-4 p.m. at the museum, 301 S. Silver Ave.  The Green Tea is free to the public.
