![]() Cancer Patient and Family Support Group Meeting Thursday, August 20th at 5pm. Cancer Support of Deming & Luna County, Inc. Office Located at 217 N. Country Club Rd. (inside the Historic Train Depot next to Starmax) We would like to invite all cancer patients, survivors, caregivers and family to attend. These group meetings invite everyone to ask questions, share their knowledge, experiences and feelings with others and receive encouragement and support for dealing with the difficult situations. Most importantly; these sessions help give each warrior hope! ![]() Deming Animal Guardians is hosting a free Party in the Park next Saturday, August 15, from 11 am to 1 pm at Milo/Viramontes Park, E. Second and Pearl Streets. Pet owners are urged to come on out and sign up their cats and dogs for very low cost spaying and neutering. Registration will take place for the Soul Dog Mobile Spay/Neuter Van coming to Deming Aug. 29 and 30. Pets must be pre-registered. Cost is just $25 per pet and includes both vaccinations. At the Party, there will be free hot dogs, face painting, children's activities, raffle tickets and more. It is not necessary to bring your pets to the Party. You can also register by calling Rebecca at 520-331-2264. ![]() Distribution of Commodities for the general public will be held Thursday, Aurust 20, at 3801 Raymond Reed Blvd. Distribution will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the food is gone. Recipients will been to bring a picture ID and a current utility bill or other proof of your current address. You must show documentation or you will not receive food. If you are picking up for someone else, you will need to bring a note of authorization and all of the above for that person. For information call Deming Helping Hand at 546-2558. ![]() The 35th Annual all you can eat Duck Days BBQ is being served on Saturday August 22nd, from 11 am to 2 pm at First United Methodist Church, on the corner of Granite and Buckeye streets, next door to the city pool. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 with children under 5 eating for free. You can purchase tickets at the church office. For more information, please call 546-2791. ![]() Elks Bingo Deming Elks Lodge #2750 will hold their weekly non-smoking Bingo on Monday, August 17th, beginning at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm, with early bird Bingo at 6. Regular games begin at 6:30. Over half our games pay $125 or more, and there is a progressive call game worth $500. We will be calling 35 numbers for the $500 Monday. Be sure to ask for details on our Frequent Players Card. Play Bingo for seven weeks, and get a FREE first occasion pack. Watch for increased payouts beginning in September. Elks Bingo is open to the public. |
