(Deming) – Deming High School senior Ethan Wertz was a finalist in the New Mexico Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest.
Wertz represented Deming High School this past Sunday in Santa Fe at the 8th annual finals,
sponsored by New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
Wertz received a letter from Gov. Susana Martinez commenting that the exciting contest highlights New Mexico’s best young talent.
As one of 11 statewide finalists, Wertz emerged
from a field of over 1,300 students across New Mexico.
The competition winner was a sophomore
