(Deming) – A Mexican national wanted in California for a sex offense was caught in Luna County Thursday.
U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Deming station observed an illegal entry into the United States by 34-year-old Arturo Ramirez.
A records check on Ramirez via the Integrated Automated Finger Print Identification System revealed that Ramirez has an active warrant out of Los Angeles, California, for “Sex Assault-Rape by Force or Fear” and “Weapons Offense-Carry Concealed Firearms.”
The warrant was issued October 22, 2012, by Los Angeles Police Department officials and carries a nationwide bail bond of $3.2 million.
Ramirez was processed for removal and was to be detained at the Luna County Detention Center pending extradition and prosecution in Los Angeles.
