(Deming) – A Luna County resident is facing 170 counts
related to alleged child sex abuse offenses in Pennsylvania.
50-year-old Thomas Lehnerd was arrested by the Luna County Sheriff’s Office on a Butler, Pennsylvania, warrant containing an extensive list of charges, including a combined 126 counts of aggravated indecent assault with a child and deviate sexual intercourse with a child.
Sheriff’s Investigator David Holguin said the charges involve three female family members, with the crimes beginning when the children were toddlers and continuing for years.
Some of the crimes date back to nearly 20 years ago, and the victims are all now adults.
Lehnerd moved here with his wife three years ago after visiting an aunt who lives in Luna County.
He was arrested at his Marana Road Southeast home Tuesday after local authorities were notified by Pennsylvania authorities that he may be living here.
Holguin said there was no reason to believe Lehnerd committed any crimes in Luna County.
