(Deming) – Here’s the area crime  report:

Deming Police officials  recovered a car sought
by Dona Ana County law enforcement officials in their  investigation of an arson after Thanksgiving.

Chief Michael Carillo  said his officers were  asked to assist after Dona Ana County authorities  determined that their “person of interest” may have been hiding out in Deming  since the arson.

Carillo said investigators found  motel and other charges from Deming appearing on the man’s debit  card.

The car, a 2012 Honda Accord, was  found abandoned near a convenience store off Cedar Street, after the driver  apparently bought a bus ticket out of Deming. Carillo said they towed the car  and sealed it as evidence.

In other news… Stephen O’Neil,  age 51, of Tucson, Arizona, was arrested for DUI, careless driving and on a  motor transportation violation… Gerardo Barraza, age 23, was arrested on a  Sierra County warrant for failure to appear… Lucia Carrasco, age 22, was cited  for shoplifting at Wal-Mart… and over $200 worth of diesel fuel was taken from a  tractor-trailer rig parked at a
local motel.
