(Deming) -- Deming MainStreet is again sponsoring a promotion aimed at encouraging people to shop and dine locally.
The Second Annual Deming Dine and Shop Days will run from this Friday
through December 31st.
MainStreet officials are reminding residents that you save gas money by
shopping and dining in Deming, plus you support our community by keeping retail dollars – and jobs – here.
Residents are encouraged to keep receipts dated between November 23rd and December 31st for purchases or meals from Deming businesses, excluding what they are calling "big box" stores.
Fast food receipts also are exempt.
Entry forms are available at locations with “Sponsoring Merchant” signs, and organizers say they will not share personal shopping or dining information outside of the contest.
Winners will receive gift certificates from local merchants.
