(Deming) – The Deming City  Council will meet in regular session Tuesday – postponed a day from its regular  meeting date due to the city’s observance of Veterans Day.

The councilors will  hold public hearings for the 2013 Community Development Block Grant and Planning  applications to include selection of a project for fiscal year 2013… to amend  the city’s Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual… to amend the Municipal Code  pertaining to water and sewer tap fees, and water, sewer and gas connection  fees… and to consider extending a special use permit for the operation of the  ASARCO Mill located on Peru Mill Road.
The councilors also  will conduct quasi-judicial public hearings for a special use permit for a used  car dealership to be  located at 1617 South Eighth Street… and for a parking  variance for a Tractor
Supply Company store to be located on East Pine Street  between South Diamond Avenue and South Ruby Street.

Also on the agenda is a  progress report on the Tulip Landfill and a resolution authorizing an ownership  transfer of the Tulip
Landfill property to Luna County. The meeting is set to  begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers of the John Strand Municipal  Building on South Gold.The meeting  is open to the public.

A closed session to  discuss real estate and  possible litigation will follow the open  meeting.
And a workshop to  discuss agenda items will precede the open meeting at 4 Tuesday  afternoon.
