(Deming) – Luna County officials  have purchased seven automated external defibrillators through a federal grant  from the Emergency Management Office.
The lifesaving tools  are used in conjunction with C-P-R to help a person having a heart  attack.
The defibrillators have  been installed in the commission chambers on the third floor of the Luna County  Courthouse… at the Starmax Entertainment Complex… and at the Deming Senior Center.
A fourth unit has been  given to the Luna County Sheriff’s Department patrol division to relay from  shift to shift… and three
additional units are pending registration through the  state and will be assigned to the Mimbres Valley Learning Center, the Florida  Mountain Volunteer Fire Department and the Savoy Volunteer Fire  Department.
The grant to purchase  the defibrillators was awarded to the Luna County Emergency Services Division… and director Mark Jasso
thanked Deming Fire Chief Edgar Davalos for his support  in getting the program going.
The units were  purchased from Cardiac Science… and information about the units is available at www.cardiacscience.com.
