SHERIFF REVOKES TRIBAL OFFICERS STATE POWERS
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Santa Fe County's sheriff has  revoked state police powers from tribal officers in Pojoaque Pueblo. Sheriff Robert Garcia says the decision he announced Friday night was
primarily based on a dispute over who should bear financial liability for tribal officers commissioned by the county. Tribal police will no longer be able to  enforce state criminal laws against non-Indians within pueblo
boundaries.

OFFICER SUSPENDED OVER TXT MESSAGES

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque's police chief says  he's suspended an officer who was accused of exchanging sexually charged text
messages with an underage girl. Chief Ray Schultz confirmed the suspension to
the Albuquerque Journal late Friday. He tells the Journal  an internal investigation into officer Frank Tillman concluded this month with a deputy chief's recommendation that the officer be fired.

VEHICLES OF DWI OFFENDERS TO BE SEIZED
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Drivers caught more than once driving drunk in Bernalillo County can now have their vehicles seized.   Bernalillo County commissioners unanimously approved the new ordinance at their  meeting Sept. 25 meeting. Commissioner Wayne Johnson says in a statement that he hopes drivers will think twice about driving drunk if they know they'll lose their vehicles.

SECURITY GUARDS SHOT
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Police say a man who was thrown out of an Albuquerque strip club returned minutes later and shot two security  guards. A police spokeswoman says the shooting happened at the Fantasy World Club near Interstate 25 in midtown Albuquerque just after 4 a.m. yesterday. Both guards were shot in the leg and their wounds are not considered life-threatening.
